The story of Aideen is a twist on the Greek myth of Persephone and how the seasons came about via the agreement between Demeter and Hades. This urban spin focuses on Demeter's second daughter, Aideen, who is next in line to wield the power of the insects – the ones who hold the keys to reverse mankind's destruction of the environment.
Aideen -Winter- (The Novella)
Writer, Amy Maki is in her second draft of the companion book to Aideen. Most writers adapt books to film, but not Maki... she has turned her script into a novella. There will be four books in the series: (winter, spring, summer, and 'the fall').
Maki will be workshopping Aideen (the first three chapters) at the Lit Fest.
Lit Fest is an eight-day celebration of writers and readers, an extravaganza of weeklong and weekend advanced workshops, craft seminars, readings, salons, business panels, agent meetings, and parties. Lit Fest 2026 will take place June 12–19.
